#7-Giant Moa Egg-(replica)

I made this egg for an exhibition on the extinction of the Moa several years ago. The Giant Moa laid eggs the size of rugby balls. There were several abundant species when the Maori arrived (1300AD?), however these birds had been hunted to extinction by about 1450AD, and when Europeans arrived Maori only had a vague memory of their existence.
